Plonk started from a simple frustration: too much wine retail is built for people who already know everything. The jargon, the scores, the earnest descriptions of "forest floor" and "pencil shavings." We thought there was room for a bottle shop that talked to people like adults who enjoy a drink, not like students who need to pass an exam.
So that's what we built. We stock quality Australian wine from producers we've visited, tasted with, and trust. Everything ships by the case, 6 or 12 bottles, with one flat delivery rate Australia-wide. No subscriptions, no commitment, no nonsense.
The name? Yes, "plonk" is Australian slang for cheap wine. We own that deliberately. Good wine shouldn't be intimidating, and neither should the place you buy it from.
