Mitchell McNicol Shiraz 2010, produced by Andrew Mitchell in Clare Valley’s Watervale sub-region, is a graceful expression of mature Australian Shiraz. Fourteen years of careful cellaring have integrated its dark plum, blackberry and mulberry fruits with savoury notes of leather, earth and subtle spice. The palate is refined and medium-bodied, with supple tannins, bright acidity and a mineral edge that speaks of Clare’s limestone soils.
