The Sherrah Wines Shiraz 2021, from Sherrah Wines in the Lacey vineyard, Tatachilla (southern McLaren Vale), is a whole-berry, small-batch open ferment by Alex Sherrah. The vines grow on sandy loam atop limestone with ironstone fragments, 1654 clone on own roots. Matured for 20 months (“15% new” French oak + older hogs heads and a puncheon), it delivers dark plum, blackberry and espresso with touches of leather and black pepper.
